Synergetic was formed on February 24, 2004, to meet the needs of small and mid-sized employers seeking to outsource their human resources functions.
As business partners with client companies, Synergetic handles all aspects of employee administration which allows our customers to focus on value added activities and revenue producing tasks.

Synergetic, Inc. has a team of seasoned HR professionals with more than 100 years of combined experience to support your business. The staff is totally focused on exceeding customer expectations and responding to your needs each and every day. The following is a short profile of each Synergetic team member.
Yvonne Yarborough, Controller, CPP
Yvonne is responsible for all accounting, payroll and state and federal tax functions for Synergetic. Yvonne has 12 years experience in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry working for three separate companies. Yvonne has over 20 years experience in all aspects of accounting, multi-state payroll, and multi-state payroll tax arena. Yvonne graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
Diane Hagen, Benefits Manager
Diane has overall responsibility for benefits administration which includes; health and dental insurance, FMLA, workers’ compensation claims administration, COBRA, disability insurance claims administration, and employee insurance claim dispute resolution. Prior to joining Synergetic, Diane worked in Human Resources with McKechnie Vehicle Components, Allied Signal/Grimes Aerospace and Laurens-Pierce Glass Company. Diane graduated from Clemson University where she majored in psychology. Diane has over 31 years of HR and benefits experience.
Shannon Johnson, Recruiting Manager
Shannon assists clients in recruiting and selecting qualified candidates for their businesses. She handles all advertising, prescreening and interviewing for open positions. She also checks references, completes back ground screening and drug tests on all new hires. In addition, Shannon assists in the administration of Synergetic’s benefit programs. Prior to joining Synergetic in July 2004, Shannon worked for BellSouth in Atlanta recruiting for sales positions in the Southeast. She taught high school after graduating from Coastal Carolina University. Shannon has 5 years of HR experience.
Lisa Millikin, Payroll Manager
Lisa is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of payroll and related information for all of the company’s clients. Lisa has 5 years experience working in the PEO business. Prior to joining Synergetic, Lisa worked for several companies in HR and payroll including Paychex, a national provider of payroll, human resources and benefits outsourcing. Lisa has 14 years of HR/Payroll experience. After attending college in Mississippi, Lisa served as an Airborne Sergeant in the U.S. Army where she specialized as an Arabic linguist and worked in a top secret environment.
Jordän Slattery, HR Manager, PHR
Jordän is responsible for preparing and packaging payrolls timely and accurately. She also administers the 401k programs, COBRA, and FMLA. Jordän assists with benefits, new hire paperwork, and invoicing. She is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and received her PHR certification in 2006. She started her HR career as the HR Intern at the City of Birmingham, Michigan, where she received hands on experience in non-profit HR. After graduating she worked for Synergy Computer Solutions, Inc. and then moved on to be the HR Generalist at Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, MI, where her HR experience continued to grow. Jordän moved to Columbia, South Carolina in December 2007.
Cathrine Scully, Accounts Payable Manager
Cathrine is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations and numerous other related functions. Cathrine has been involved with the PEO industry for over 10 years. In addition to her duties at Synergetic, Cathrine teaches advanced Mathematics at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia. Cathrine received her undergraduate degree from American University, Washington, DC, and her Masters in Education from Northeastern State University in Talequah, OK.
Emmett Scully, President
Emmett is the President of Synergetic, Inc. He has over 10 years in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) Industry and more than 30 years experience in the Human Resources. Emmett worked in senior HR management roles with Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company, United Technologies, and Black & Decker. Emmett obtained his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his JD from Glendale University College of Law.
